Learning New Laboratory Production Processes in VR.
Traditionally, experts have been flown in to learn and practice new laboratory processes in labs where these processes are already used. This often involves long-distance travel and disruption of the guest lab’s operations. Virtual reality offers a better alternative, allowing you to try out these procedures yourself without the need to travel or interrupt lab activities.
In this collaboration, the Immersive Realities Research Lab developed a pilot implementation of a production process for DCVMN. The goal was to make this application available to DCVMN members on Oculus Quest headsets directly on site. The project was successfully implemented.
