The new “Überblick” prototype developed by the project team led by Michael Shorter and Melanie Rickenmann can do so much more than its predecessor, the so-called WordCloud.
While the WordCloud, as the name suggests, reproduced what was said in word clouds (these appeared larger or smaller depending on the frequency of the recognized words), the “Überblick” now combines pure speech recognition with artificial intelligence, more precisely with the AI OpenAI, which is also used in ChatGPT.
In a nutshell, it offers the user a choice between three different functions:
- Summary of 150 words
- Image generation
- Haiku – short poem
The devices are currently being tested and put to the test at home for two weeks by two households who also took part in the first home study three years ago.
