NEPTUNE 2023
International workshop «Urban SoundSCAPE»
NEPTUNE stands for «Network for Environmental Projects in Technology, UNited in Europe». This year, the 16th edition of the Champion Circle’s eight-day international workshop will take place March 17-24, 2023 at HSLU in Horw.
Thirty students from Finland, Slovenia, Holland, France and Switzerland (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Engineering & Architecture) are working in interdisciplinary teams to develop proposed solutions for mobile sound installations at various locations in Lucerne. The following five locations serve as the basis for the location-specific solution proposals: Pilatusplatz, Weinmarkt, Bahnhofplatz, Schwanenplatz, Inseli.
The following universities participate in the program and send a «supervisor» who accompanies the students during the workshops: NHL University of Applied Sciences (Holland), Savonia University of Applied Sciences (Finland), University of Maribor (Slovenia), ECAM LaSalle (France), Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Engineering & Architecture.
From HSLU Prof. Dr. Peter Schwehr (IAR) participated as supervisor and Irene Dietrichs (ING) as Module leader. The other «supervisors» were Marko Jausovec (SLO), Hans Schaeffer (NL), Jarkko Surakka (FIN) as well as Elsa Brailly & Rafika Ben Haj Slama (FRA).

At the end of the workshop a jury chose a winning team. This year’s member of the jury were: Christian Zimmermann, Head of Bachelor in Architecture HSLU, Stefan Mennel, Lecturer Institute of Building Technology/Energy HSLU, Balthasar Streiff, musician and Siamäk Naghian, CEO Genelec.
