(Un)intended monuments – Field Trip 

This semester the seminar trip will take us to the three cities Tirana (Albania), Skopje (North Macedonia), and Pristina (Kosovo). This «roadtrip» focuses on the urban space of each city and observes how historical or more recent architectures are embedded within it.Through visits, city tours, and various inputs, we aim to compare informally developed spaces with those designed monumentally. Local experts and the inclusion of historical perspectives and theories will help us.

The seminar trip is thematically linked to the module In-depht Study «(Un)intended monuments – Architecture and Urbanscapes in the Balkans» and the design module «KosovoMuseum» led by Felix Wettstein. However, the trip is open to all students in the master program.
