Work Session \u2013 Decolonising Documentary Practices<\/span><\/h5>\n

The work session Decolonising Documentary Practices\u00a0proposes animality and\u00a0animism as potential conceptual vectors\u00a0<\/span>towards a radical reconsideration of documentary methods<\/span>. How can the representation of animals in relation to humans and context be conceived with regard to an increasingly topological reality? What does an animated camera generate? Who is witnessing who?<\/p>\n

The work session is part of the research project \u00abDe-Doc: Decolonizing Documentary Film Methods in Artistic Research\u00bb and is linked to an upcoming project on the global crisis for donkeys in collaboration with HDK Valand of Gothenburg University. It is intended as ground work for a continuous open discussion on issues of decoloniality and animality in documentary art practices.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants:\u00a0<\/span>Sanskriti Chattopadhyay, Maia Gusberti, Ronny Hardliz, Thomas Kn\u00fcsel, Jyoti Mistry, Gian-Andri Toendury.<\/p>\n

Documentation of the work session will make the outcomes accessible to peers for further research.<\/p>\n
