It is co-led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hslu.ch\/en\/lucerne-university-of-applied-sciences-and-arts\/about-us\/people-finder\/profile\/?pid=3616\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Sabine Junginger<\/a> (HSLU D&amp;K),<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ost.ch\/de\/person\/person\/ulrich-reimer-131\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Dr. Ulrich Reimer<\/a> (OST), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hslu.ch\/en\/lucerne-university-of-applied-sciences-and-arts\/about-us\/people-finder\/profile\/?pid=266\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Jens O. Meissner<\/a> (HSLU W) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northumbria.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-staff\/r\/jon-rogers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Jon Rogers<\/a> (Northumbria University). The <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.hslu.ch\/va-pepr\/en\/team\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">multi-disciplinary project team<\/a> researches how people experience VAs in their homes and private lives, aiming to generate insights into emerging issues associated with VA use. Focusing on the home environment, user experience, and ethics, the project intends to deepen understanding of this technology. Previous studies in Switzerland have neglected user perspectives, so this research fills that gap and provides guidance for users, developers, designers, and service providers. Collaboration with the Mozilla Foundation enhances the project&#8217;s impact.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;11468&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_single_image image=&#8221;11465&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1615276848974{margin-top: 40px !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Project Phases<\/h2>\n<p>The phases of the study could be explained in four parts, each with a different thematic focus:[\/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion active_section=&#8221;1&#8243;][vc_tta_section add_icon=&#8221;true&#8221; title=&#8221;Phase 1 Ethnographic Studies&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1704986128474-640e4343-9275&#8243; i_icon_elegant=&#8221;gem-print-icon gem-icon-pack-elegant icon_house&#8221;][vc_column_text]With the aim of exploring privacy, daily routines, and social interactions to understand how these technologies influence people&#8217;s lives, we conducted a series of\u00a0<strong>ethnographic studies of people using VAs in their homes<\/strong>\u00a0in 2021.\u00a0Due to the COVID19 pandemic, we had to collect the data remotely.
