Dan White<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

is the CEO of Filament Games<\/a>, a 50-person studio that has developed almost 500 learning games since its founding 20 years ago. Dan believes that good gameplay and good learning are complementary rather than oppositional forces. An alumnus of Cornell University and the University of Wisconsin \u2013 Madison, Dan earned an M.S. in Education Technology under seminal learning game scholars Drs. Kurt Squire and James Paul Gee. Prior to founding Filament, he worked as a teacher, instructional designer, and game artist.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Stefano Gualeni<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

is a philosopher who studies (and designs) games. He is a Full Professor at the Institute of Digital Games (University of Malta)<\/a>. Among his academic monographs are Virtual Worlds as Philosophical Tools<\/em> (Palgrave, 2015), Virtual Existentialism<\/em> (Palgrave Pivot, 2020 \u2013 with Daniel Vella), and Fictional Games: A Philosophy of Worldbuilding and Imaginary Play <\/em>(Bloomsbury, 2023 \u2013 with Riccardo Fassone). Stefano also authored of two speculative fiction novels: The Clouds<\/em> (Routledge, 2023) and What We Owe the Dead<\/em> (Set Margins\u2019, 2025).
